Designed to pursue balanced regional development and address land shortage through expansion of regional industrial base and growth of state-of-the-art industries

History
  • May 28, 1990: Revised basic urban development plan received government approval
  • May 15, 1991: Changed the use of the land (for industrial purposes)
  • July 5, 1991: Designated as regional industrial complex
  • September 19, 1991: Deliberation by central transportation impact assessment committee
  • October 5, 1991: Deliberation of basic development plan
  • December 19, 1991: Environment impact assessment for the 1st complex
  • December 31, 1991: First complex development plan received government approval March 8, 1993: Ground-breaking (1st phase)

  • September 2, 1993: Basic development plan was revised (approved).
  • April 15, 1995: Changed the use of the land (approved)
  • July 21, 1995: First complex development plan was modified (approved).

  • April 9, 1996: First complex development project received government approval
  • March 11, 1997: Basic development plan was modified and approved
  • December 24, 2001: Construction plan for the 1st section of the 2nd complex was   approved (Gwangju Metropolitan City announcement 2001-179)
  • October 14, 2002: Ground-breaking (2nd 1st section)
  • February 11, 2005: Ground-breaking (2nd 1st section)
  • December 28, 2006: Ground-breaking (2nd and 3rd sections)

528.9 billion won (299.5 won for compensation, 138.7 won for construction, 90.7 won for other expenses)
