The number of high-speed trains including KTX has doubled at 86 trains a day...
A shuttle from Songjeong Station to Gwangju Station travels back and forth 28 times a day.

The Super Rapid Train (SRT) that runs a section from Gwangju to Seoul in 87 minutes has been introduced on December 9th, 2016. The train runs the section 86 times a day.
The distance between Songjeong Station in Gwangju and Suseo Station in Seoul is 289.6 kilometers; it takes an hour and 27 minutes if it drives at 300 km/ h and only makes a stopover in Iksan Station.
The average time required is an hour and 44 minutes.
If you take SRT, you can save six minutes compared to KTX which runs from Gwangju Songjeong Station to Seoul Yongsan Station in an hour and 50 minutes.
SRT's Honam line bounds for south runs 20 trains a day and vice versa.
KTX, currently making 48 round trips per day, will operate 46 trains a day.
With the introduction of SRT, the number of rapid trains between Seoul and Gwangju Songjeong Station has doubled at 86 trains a day.

You can also choose between KTX and SRT depending on the station you feel most comfortable with, whether it is Yongsan Station, Suseo Station, or Seoul Station.
The Honam Line to/from Seoul Station runs 14 round trips a day on weekends by way of Yongsan Station.

The price of the section from Seoul Suseo to Gwangju Songjeong is 40,700 won, which is about 11% (5,100 won) cheaper than KTX's Yongsan to Songjeong section (45,800 won).
The executive car of the same section cost 5,900 won.
Increased amenities for passengers and reduced costs; The spaces between each seat have been increased by 5.7 centimeters compared to those of KTX.
The back of a chair in the executive car can be tilted back up to 41 degrees and that in the general cars up to 37 degrees.
To protect the eyes of the passengers, the trains are equipped with off-white LED lights and offer stable Wi-Fi connection even in tunnels.
The third car of this eight-car train is the executive car and the fourth car is for those who are vulnerable to use transportation (Disabled, elderlies, pregnant women, etc.).
The third and the fourth car offer adjustable headrests and pillows.

There are overhead bins in the executive car so that passengers can store their baggage.
Shuttle service from Gwangju Station to Songjeong Station 28 times a day; with the opening of SRT, it is expected that there will be a huge bump in the number of passengers who would want to use Gwangju Songjeong Station.
Accordingly, Gwangju city will run a shuttle service from Songjeong Station to Gwangju Station 28 times a day starting on 19th for the convenience of those who reside in the eastern and northern parts of Gwangju.
The shuttle can take a maximum of 161 passengers and takes 18 minutes.
The fare is 2,600 won each way per adult.
There have been increased amenities inside the Songjeong Station and waiting rooms and the parking lot can park 597 cars.
The number of passageways has increased from 18 to 22 and the number of bathrooms has increased to 63, up by 22.
Passengers can be provided with a comprehensive traffic information service on Songjeong Station and there will be traffic control on illegally parked cars around the area.
